Children and Young People take part in the Brunel Challenge

On Friday, 28th of June,  children, young people and staff from across Brunel took part in an inclusive walk, push, pull challenge at Lydiard Park, Swindon. The event was kindly sponsored by dbd play who also provided a wonderful bespoke bird table as a prize for the school who raised the most - Uplands School were the winners. Brunel settings raised nearly £1500 which they will be spending on much needed resources for their classrooms and outdoor learning spaces.

The event was a huge success with over 500 children and young people crossing the finish line and receiving a sustainable wooden medal. Members of the Brunel community including family and friends, Trustees, Swindon Borough Council, the local Parliamentary candidate, and Swindon community 105.5 radio, all attended to support the event. Our partner charity, Uplands Enterprise Trust (UET),  supported by helping to hand out medals to the finishers and interviewing people for a podcast.

Following the positive feedback from all who attended, including one comment from a Westlea Pupil who said it was "the best thing ever", we have decided to make this event an annual challenge so we will be back, bigger and even better in July 2025!
